Two things.
The first- Have you seen what has happened to Fred Durst lately? You know, like that guy who used to be that really angsty lead singer of Limp Biskit, sang about nookies? Well anyway, this picture was on Perez Hilton and he looks like some older guy that belongs in a coffee ad.
And finally: Yesterday Courtney, her mom, Sarah Roske, and I went on what should have been a fairly easy to accomplish adventure to the Ikea store in Paramus, New Jersey. We needed to get a variety of items, large and small, for the ongoing project of decorating our apartment and figured that the distance was worth the opportunity of a one stop shop. In ways, it was. In others, not. After spending an approximate four hours in what can most aptly be described as the Swedish mecca, we were forced to load the goods into the car. This, however, was not as easy as it may seem. Especially when you drive a Honda Accord. And there are four people in the car. And you bought enough trappings to furnish a small boutique chain. We ended up using twine, lots of twine. When I asked an Ikea employee if they could so possibly assist us, they proceeded to come over and say "As long as it's tight, everything's fine." He didn't check any of the ropes which we had tied in an X shaped pattern to keep the furniture from propelling off the roof during the dreaded drive back. No, he just told me something that I clearly was already aware of. Sow what do you do in this situation? We wished very much for it to be tight enough and departed for White Plains, New York. This, also, was not as easy as it may seem. Courtney had zero rear visibility and Sarah and I were squished between a mattress and a pillow top mattress and had to act as her eyes during merges. Colette was in charge of directions and overall moral support. The exit for the GSP North seemed impossible to find off of 17, I think we passed it a good four times. But eventually, we got it right. And the car fell into motion, back on the road again. Traffic, unfortunately, was not so kind to us. We sat five miles from the Tappan Zee Bridge and twidled our thumbs. We got home at nine or so, assembled some things, and passed out for a night of much needed sleep. My days seem very long lately and I mean that in a way that is for the most part good. Who ever wants summer to end?
